Our developmental psychology program offers so much more than other schools — opportunities for undergraduate research and community placements that allow you to put what you’ve learned in the classroom into practice. Work with children, adolescents, adults or seniors and choose a career path that matches your interests.

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Understanding and assessing the psychological, emotional, cognitive, and social determinants of human behaviour
Identifying, interpreting, and communicating key issues relevant to individuals, groups and society
Understanding and applying behavioural components of psychological theory
Appreciating the respective roles of various governmental, community, and health-care institutions
Being sensitive to and understanding key psychological problems and the broader human condition
Conducting qualitative/quantitative psychological research; gathering information, assessing and analyzing data, and establishing links

All programs require successful completion of the OSS Diploma and a minimum 70% average of six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U. English Language Requirements: A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or A minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL); or A minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); or A minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); or Successful completion of the University of Windsor's English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) (level III) with a minimum final grade of 75%; or A minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); or A minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.).
