Gain the management and business skills necessary to be successful in what is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the world. Hospitality and tourism is, after all, big business.

Course Notes

Students will receive credit of up to one year credit (depending on electives chosen) into of the Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality & Events Management following the successful completion of the Diploma of Hospitality or Events or Tourism Management.

The elective subject ‘Entrepreneurs' Challenge’ is taught by both TAFE SA and the University of Adelaide. International students, enrolling in this elective subject, will be required to attend at both TAFE SA Regency Campus and the University of Adelaide City Campus. Specific details will be provided upon enrolment in the subject.

Employment roles of Graduates of this course could be to:

•Run or aspire to run their own business (Sole Trader)

•Run or contribute to the running of a Small business

•Aspire to Middle Management or move up from Middle Management (Larger Business/Corporations)

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management (CRS )

This qualification provides students with relevant transferable business skills in areas such as Strategic Planning, Finance, Marketing, International Human Resource Management, Business Research and Business Ethics. The course also provides students with work placement, project opportunities and live cases so skills are put into practice to address current and future needs of the Hospitality, Tourism and Events industry. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 16 core units and 8 elective units.

Minimum academic entry is completion of Year 12 or equivalent. IELTS Academic 5.5 overall with a minimum of 5.0 in all bands; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – iBT: Score of 46, with reading: 4-7, listening: 4-6, speaking: 14-15, and writing: 14-17; Pearsons Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum 42 with 36 in all for communicative skills ((listening, reading, writing and speaking); Occupational English Test OET: Pass; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE), Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE): Overall score of 162 with a minimum of 154 in all bands; Intensive English Language Institute (IELI): English for Academic Purposes 2 (C grade); GCE O Levels English/1119 English: C6.
