Sunway Foundation Programmes (SFP) consists of Foundation in Arts (FIA) and Foundation in Science and Technology (FIST). Both programmes are designed to enable students to set personal and academic goals and to identify their individual talents. It also develops social responsibility through community involvement and participation in extracurricular activities. Students will be equipped with technical and soft skills necessary to be resourceful and successful in higher studies and enterprising in their careers.

Programme Structure

Sunway Foundation Programme runs over 3 semesters.

Sunway Foundation Programme practices the blended learning approach which combines face-to-face instruction and self-directed learning via an e-learning platform and the internet. Teaching and learning happens through a dual-mode approach. With this approach students are advised to bring their own electronic devices i.e. laptop or tablet.

Choice of Subjects

Students are to complete 13 subjects. Core Units and Enrichment Subjects are compulsory.

Core Units: Involves Mathematics and English subjects aiming to build strong foundation in Mathematics application skills and academic research writing.

Enrichment Subjects: Broadens students’ general knowledge; develops their critical thinking skills through an understanding of individuals, groups and events influencing the world around them.

Applicants must have passed SPM, O-level or equivalent with minimum five (5) credits including English (or a minimum IELTS score of 5.5).
