The Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts is a three-year course, and is available on both a full time and part time basis.

In a liberal arts degree you gain mastery of the foundational tools of learning – learning how to think, write, and speak well – while also receiving a deep immersion in the disciplines of philosophy, theology, literature and history. Each student can choose to major in one of these four disciplines.

?The Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts is comprised of 24 units: 18 core units and 6 electives. The units a student chooses to take for their electives will determine which major (or majors) they will graduate with at the end of their degree. Students are not required to undertake a major and may choose to use their elective units to broaden their knowledge across different disciplines.

CAREER OUTCOMES

A multidisciplinary liberal arts education provides flexibility in the job market. By cultivating transferable skills like critical thinking, effective communication, managing complexity, creative problem-solving, synthesising data into arguments the liberal arts equip students to pursue a broad range of careers. Some of the most common are teaching, journalism, law, public policy, business, history, international relations, marketing, ministry, philosophy, social science, and academia.

Whereas a specialised undergraduate degree trains people for their first job, a liberal arts degree enables them to move into a second, third, or fourth job more easily.

Employers also recognise the importance of hiring workers with sound reasoning, analytical and communication skills. Global leaders like Apple™ and Google™ have been intentional about hiring liberal arts graduates.

The Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts forms a tool not for any single career but a key to unlocking many.
