Becoming a chartered accountant will open doors for you across the globe. Our graduates are known not only for being highly skilled, but for being able to hit the ground running. This pathway has accreditation from both CAANZ and CPA, and you can study it part-time, full-time or in the evenings.

Right from your first year you’ll focus on your accounting specialisation with core subjects such as:

Your studies will also cover core areas of business including business communication; commercial law; business heritage, culture and sustainability; marketing; computing; management; and applied research.

In your final year you’ll undertake a co-operative education project which involves applying your learning within a real business environment. You’ll undertake a significant research project for your host organisation and on successful completion you’ll have real-life work experience to add to your CV.

Successful completion of one year tertiary study; Academic equivalence: Degree level programmes equivalent to New Zealand NCEA Level 3 (Year 13); IELTS test: Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5; TOEFL Paper-based Test (pBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill; OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42; LanguageCert: C1 Expert IESOL (LRWS) with PASS and no less than Pass in each skill; Trinity ISE: ISE II with no less than distinction in any band.
