金球奖终身成就奖得主梅丽尔暗讽川普

前几天，美国金球奖颁奖典礼刷爆了大家的朋友圈。不过留学党们可不要光顾着看明星们的红毯造型哦！这里有很多精彩的演讲等着大家去学习。其中最精彩的演讲就是本届金球奖终身成就奖得主梅丽尔•斯特里普（就是扮演《穿普拉达的恶魔》里女魔头的那个阿姨）的演讲，她全程高能暗讽川普，引得掌声不断，快来学习一下吧！

Thank you Hollywood Foreign Press. Just to pick up on what Hugh Laurie said, you and all of us in this room, really, belong to the most vilified segment in American society right now. Think about it: Hollywood, foreigners, and the press. But, who are we? And what is Hollywood, anyway? Just a bunch of people from other places.

谢谢你们，好莱坞外国记者协会。接着休•劳瑞的话说，你和我们都在这间屋子里，真的，正同属于美国社会最易为人所诟病的一角。想想看：好莱坞、外国人、记者。但是，我们是谁？以及，好莱坞是什么？不过是一帮外来人罢了。

I was born and raised and educated in the public schools of New Jersey. Viola [Davis] was born in a sharecroppers' cabin in South Carolina, came up in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Sarah Paulson was born in Florida, raised by a single mom in Brooklyn. Sarah Jessica Parker was one of seven or eight kids from Ohio. Amy Adams was born in Vicenza, Italy. And Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem. Where are their birth certificates? And the beautiful Ruth Negga was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, raised in Ireland, I do believe. And she's here nominated for playing a small-town girl from Virginia.

Ryan Gosling, like all the nicest people, is Canadian. And Dev Patel was born in Kenya, raised in London, and is here playing an Indian raised in Tasmania. So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. And if we kick them all out, we'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.

瑞恩•高斯林，像所有友善的人一样，是加拿大人。而戴夫•帕特尔则生于肯尼亚、长于伦敦，在塔斯马尼亚出演一位印度人。所以好莱坞满是外来人和外国人。如果我们把他们全赶出去，那除了橄榄球和综合格斗以外，我们再无其他东西可看，而这些东西连艺术都不是。

An actor's only job is to enter the lives of people who are different from us and let you feel what that feels like. And there are many, many, many powerful performances this year that did exactly that. Breathtaking, compassionate work.

演员的唯一工作就是进入到那些异于自己的人的生活中，让你知道那些不同的生活是什么样的。而今年，许许多多震撼人心的表演也确实做到了。多么伟大却又充满悲悯的工作啊。

But there was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hook in my heart not because it was good. There was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter.

但今年，有一场表演领我震惊。它深深地勾住了我的心。不是因为表演有多出色。它没什么值得称道的。但它很有效，而且做了它想做的事。它使自己的目标观众露齿大笑了。那就是一个坐在我们国家最受尊敬之位的人，模仿嘲笑一位残疾记者的时候。

Someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw that. I still can't get it out of my head because it wasn't in a movie. It was real life. And this instinct to humiliate when it's modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, filters down into everyone's life because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.

那个人，他居于特权、权力以及能被人反击之上的高位。我看到那个场景时有些心痛。它在我脑海中挥之不去，因为那不是电影。那是真实发生的事。当这些行为被某个有影响力的人搬上公共舞台时，那种羞辱的本能就渗入每个人的生活中，因为这像是允许别人做同样的事。不敬带来不敬。暴力催生暴力。当有权势的人利用职位之便来欺凌他人时，我们全都输得一败涂地。

This brings me to the press. We need the principled press to hold power to account to call them on the carpet for every outrage. That's why our founders enshrined the press and its freedoms in our Constitution. So, I only ask the famously well-healed Hollywood Foreign Press and all of us in our community to join me in supporting the committee to protect journalists. Because we're going to need them going forward and they're going to need us to safeguard the truth. 

这又让我说到媒体。我们需要有原则的记者来掌握话语权。这正是我们的国父们将记者和新闻自由写入宪法的原因。所以，我谨邀请闻名遐迩的好莱坞外国记者协会，以及这个圈子里的所有人和我一起，来支持这个协会，也就是支持记者们。因为我们需要他们开辟前路，而他们需要我们来维护真相。

One more thing: Once when I was standing around on the set one day, whining about something — you know, we were going to work through supper or the long hours or something — Tommy Lee Jones said to me, "Isn't it such a privilege, Meryl, just to be an actor?" Yeah, it is. And we have to remind each other of the privilege and the responsibility of the act of empathy. We should all be very proud of the work Hollywood honors here today. As my friend, the dear departed Princess Leia said to me once, "Take your broken heart, make it into art." Thank you.

还有一件事：有一次，我正站在片场抱怨着什么——你懂的，我们经常因工作吃不了晚饭——汤米•李•琼斯跟我说，“这难道不是一种特别的荣幸么，梅里尔，当演员？”没错，是的。而我们也要彼此提醒，这种荣幸，以及我们让大家产生共鸣的责任。我们都应该自豪于好莱坞今天给予荣誉的所有作品。正如我的朋友，已逝的莉亚公主说与我那般：“带着你破碎的心，将其创造为艺术吧。”谢谢。
