A-Level(General Certificate of Education Advanced Level),英国高中课程,是英国全民课程体系,是英国普通中等教育证书考试高级水平课程,也是英国学生的大学入学考试课程,迄今已近70年历史,是历史最悠久的国际课程。


不少家长和学生认为,A-Level课程更倾向于申请英联邦国家的大学,这实际上是一个误区。


在英美加澳等热门留学国家中,只有英国有自己完善的、严谨的标准化中学课程和考评体系,系统性的优势让A-level的考试成绩受到全球绝大多数国家的认可,并成为录取的重要标准之一。全世界有160多个国家约11,000所大学认可A-Level课程体系。

A-Level与IB比:

A-Level没有必修课,而IB有必修的课程群,课程群文理兼顾,不适合偏科的孩子。


A-level与AP比:

A-Level既是高中课程又是大学预科课程,且可以转换美国、加拿大、香港等大学的学分。

而AP是美国大学先修课程,不是高中学历课程,学AP需要额外进行高中学习。A-Level是完整的课程体系,而AP实际上只是一个考试,从这个角度来讲,AP甚至没有可比性。


2018年英国私立学校A-Level成绩排名要点:

☛ 参考了325所ISC学校的75,470名考生;

☛ 覆盖了A-level、IB、Cambridge Pre-U考试成绩。IB成绩与Pre-U转化成了A-level同等成绩;

☛ 上榜的学校都至少提供了25名考生的成绩,也有的学校不会对外公开成绩,所以也就不会出现在榜单上;

☛ 根据ISC(英国独立学校委员会)的数据,私立学校拿到三个A*的学生占7.4%,拿到一个A*的学生占17.7%,47%的学生拿到一个A*或A(全国平均水平只有26.4%);

☛ 私立学校拿到A*/A的机会远远超出英国的平均水平;

☛ 能上榜的学校都是英国不错的私校,门槛不低,压力也不小,选择要慎重
